How can XtremeLock do what it does?

This product incorporates the use of hardware and a software service to prevent unauthorized and unwanted use of a windows based computer. At this time this product works only with XP, Windows 2000, Windows 7 RC and Windows 98 operating systems and can only be used with systems with an unused USB port. XtremeLock works by installing masked services onto your computer whose specific functions are to look for a matched USB thumbdrive supplied when you purchase the product. If the USB thumbdrive is present, the computer will work normally, if removed, the computer will either remain in a suspended or locked state or will power off. Once powered off, the PC will not reboot. If someone attempts to tamper with the software on the PC after it has been booted with the thumbdrive installed, the system will shutdown. Security backups that were installed during software installation monitor for malicious activity and resets the software before the system is shutdown.

OFFICE

Your office or organization requires that your PC be locked if you step away for any length of time.

Secure all the business center PC's from general use. Restrict business center PC's to use by registered guests only.

Secure all education center PC's from general use. No student would be allowed to use an education center PC's without requesting the XtremeLock thumbdrive key first.

HOME

Your child will not be able to even boot the PC without the thumbdrive key. Even if normal security software is installed, the PC will boot and is usable if the password can be found or the security software can be stopped or disabled. XtremeLock prevents the system from even booting. Therefore no passwords can be entered, no working mouse or keyboard, no screen to stop software.
